(One can't see it by looking at them, but I noticed it by looking at one of the left panels when the sketch is in editing mode.
Unfortunately all circles and arcs are exported as polylines in the DXF (no matter how the DXF import/export preferences are set).Īfter some digging I noticed in the sketch that arcs and circles are in fact arcs of ellipses and ellipses! I thought to export the Shape2DView or the Sketch to DXF, then edit the DXF as desired (a lot easier and faster), then import the updated dxf in FreeCAD. Or are there better/faster ways to achieve my goal? In either cases, it is going to be a long and tedious process. I would like to move/reorder/change the position of those components/cut-outs.ġ) make a "negative" of each pocket (with part cut from many small plates surrounding each cut-out)Ģ) create a plain plate with the same dimensions of the imported oneģ) place the "negative cut-outs" where I would like them to beĤ) subtract (part cut) from the plain plate the negative cut-outs, hopefully all at once.ġ) make a "negative" of the whole plate (with part cut from a larger plain plate)Ģ) somehow isolate the individual negative cut-outs (don't know how )ģ) create a plain plate with the same dimensions of the imported oneĤ) place the individual "negative cut-outs" where I would like them to beĥ) subtract (part cut) from the plain plate the negative cut-outs, hopefully all at once.
It is a panel with many cut-outs (or pockets), some of which are pretty complicated.īasically, those are cut-outs of components mounted on the plate.
